Call for Papers

FREE PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Authors are requested to read the following guidelines carefully before submitting their abstract. Abstracts that do not follow to the guidelines will not be accepted.

All proposals must be sent by 15th of December 2011 via the online application form on the Congress’ website (www.wfldbcn2012.com). It Abstracts not fulfilling the requirements asked or sent after the deadline, would not be included in the official publication (Medicina Oral, Patología Oral y Cirugía Bucal).

All the compulsory fields must be filled in (*).

Anyone submitting abstracts to the 13th WFL World Congress must read and fulfil the following guidelines, and accept the deadlines as well as any decision taken by the committees in charge:

    • The authors guarantee that the material provided is original, that it has never been submitted elsewhere, that all authors listed have worked on it and that all the images and contents used either belong to the group or they have been authorised to use them.
    • Each author is entitled to submit only one abstract , although he may be appear as co-author in others works.
    • The same study will not be allowed to be in different sessions ( poster and oral presentation) unless it is properly justified and also approved by the Scientific Committee.
    • After notification of acceptance, the leading author they must register , and paid the Congress Registration fees before the early registration fees deadline 20 of January 2012.
    • After delivering their presentation, authors must answer related questions from the audience.
    • During the poster sessions authors must be present. Reviewers may ask questions.
    • The number of free papers reviewed will be limited by the Scientific Committee of the Congress availability. Selection will be done anonymously, on the basis of criteria strictly related to the scientific and clinical quality of the material. Quality work which could not be accepted in the free paper section may be printed as posters.
    • Once the Scientific Committee selects the papers, the authors will be notified by e-mail, along with the day, time and exhibition room.

    The following types of studies will be considered for submission:

    • Laboratories studies.
    • Animal studies.
    • Case reports.
    • Clinical studies.

    Guidelines for Abstract construction :

    • The Official language will be English.
    • For laboratory /animals studies and clinical studies : abstract should consist of introduction, aim of the study, material and methods, results and conclusion and should not exceed 1500 characters.
    • For Clinical Cases Report : abstract should include introduction , aim of the study , description evolution and discussion and not exceed 1500 characters.
    • Note : For Case Reports the work should address a case series with data. A single clinical case will not be considered.
    • Systematic reviews will be accepted as research abstracts.

    Instructions for poster presentation:

    • The Official language will be English.
    • Size: 180 cm high (maximum) x 97 cm wide (maximum). Landscape format will not be accepted.
    • Posters should include, in order: title, authors (presenting author´s name should be underlining ) and affiliation.
    • The text should be visible from a distance of 2 meters.
    • All the posters should be displayed in the designated area, and on the corresponding display board according to the number established in the programme.
    • Authors must be present during the poster session to explain or clarify any aspects of the study to the participants and to the Evaluating Committee.
    • The Evaluating Committee will select the posters to compete to the award ; The Best Poster presentation”
    • Posters shoul not be removed before the Congress closing. The Organizing Committee will not be responsible for any poster that has not been removed.
    • Failure to follow these guidelines will disqualify from award “.
    • The best poster and the best oral presentation will be awarded during the Gala Dinner.

    Instructions for oral presentation:

    • The Official language will be English.
    • The leading author must be in the room 15 minutes before the session starts.
    • All the oral papers will be presented on a video projector.
    • Presentations must be prepared in Power Point 98 or a later version format and must be available to the Scientific committee 15 minutes before sessions stars.
    • The oral paper presentation should not last longer than 10 minutes. The session will be divided into 7 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for discussion.
    • After the presentation authors must answer audience´s questions.
    • A certificate of participation will be delivered after each presentation.
    • The moderators in each room will evaluate all the oral presentations and select the best three of them. These selected ones will be presented again to compete to the award The Best Oral Paper Presentation”.
    • The best poster and the best oral presentation will be awarded during the Gala Dinner.
